We have been spending so much time at Faire Frou Frou boutique this week, that we wanted to share the latest news with our readers/customers. We have made no secret of the fact that we have been fighting our insurance company over getting a fair settlement
on the water damage in our boutique. We had no idea how shady the insurance industry was until this…but it has been an education.
Nonetheless, we are now finally able to move forward and rebuild our beautiful boutique! We have been meeting with contractors/painters/electricians and so forth this past week, and we’re closing in on accepting a bid. Probably the work will begin in about a week…very exciting! We can’t wait to post the ‘after’ pictures of Faire Frou Frou! Stay tuned as we update you on our progress (new awning, new exterior garden, new paint, new lighting, and so forth).
We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your tremendous support. The phone calls, voicemails, emails, online purchases, blog comments, Twitter comments, you name it…each and every one amazing. xoxo

Every season one of our favorite posts is about the latest collection from French lingerie designer Chantal Thomass. Hopefully from looking at these pictures you can understand our excitement! Chantal Thomass is revered for her beautiful (and fun!) lingerie collections, with a history in design that spans the decades.
The images above are from her Spring/Summer 2010 catalogue. We wish we could once again carry her line at Faire Frou Frou…and we will give it another shot due to high customer demand! It’s probably our number-one requested/suggested brand we get emailed about! But alas, licensing issues with overseas brands… We figure it made it here before, it will make it back again!

Visit our new Etsy Boutique!

We are excited to announce one of the first special projects we have slated for 2010, and that is the opening of the Frou Frou Fashionista Etsy boutique!
Though we’re still very much in the lingerie business (with Faire Frou Frou), we wanted to add another fun category to our work with the addition of our Etsy store. Our little shop includes prints of watercolors/paintings created by Gail & Alison Rubke (that’s us!) that are inspired by beautiful pictures we’ve collected over the years. For instance, the shoe prints are based on a favorite pair of ballet flats on a zig zag background from our favorite stationary.
We will continue to add more images to our Etsy shop as we have plenty more to add!
We hope you enjoy what you see!

Dolce & Gabbana

Aren’t these images from the Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana runway show fabulous! The show certainly made a statement with the bodysuit…a look we typically cringe with memories of our look from the 90’s. Nonetheless, the look works well here and is quite sexy. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that it’s worn by itself with a cinched waist and high heels. We don’t think we will exactly be wearing this look for Spring, but it certainly works for a statement on the runway or red carpet. Plus, even if we don’t see this look in our everyday street style, it’s certainly showing up in the high fashion editorials.

All of us at Faire Frou Frou would like to wish you a very happy holiday season! We will be taking a short time off for some Christmas celebrating so blog posting will be light.
